WHAT IS fixed-indemnity MEDICAL?

A voluntary, limited fixed-indemnity and accident medical plan designed to provide a basic to mid-level medical benefit for employees and association members who are not covered by a major medical plan. Coverage levels are higher than mini-med plans but still less than major medical. Various levels of plans provide total potential fixed-indemnity, accident medical payments and reimbursements of $15,000 to $100,000 per year at a premium that is 25% to 40% less than the cost of a major medical plan. Plus, PPO discounts, telephonic and video doctor visits, and Rx copays.

Working adults average $6,632 annually in medical expenses.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Insurance policies providing certain health insurance coverage issued or renewed on or after September 23, 2010, are required to comply with all applicable requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). When I asked my agent for affordable healthcare, he showed me a high deductible major medical plan. FUNDAMENTAL CARE OUTPATIENT ONLY PLAN

If you are healthy, hardly ever go to the doctor, and have a limited budget, this plan is your most affordable option. Keep in mind, this plan covers Outpatient expenses like doctor visits, lab and x-ray, accidents, ER visits, Rx, Telemedicine and counseling only. If you are concerned about larger, unexpected events, Critical Med might be a good add-on.

FUNDAMENTAL CARE STANDARD PLAN

If you are looking for affordable, basic coverage, the Fundamental Care Standard Plan is a good option. This plan includes the Outpatient Only Plan coverage but adds inpatient benefits for accidents and illness (including maternity). It is a limited benefit plan, so if you have concerns about high-cost unexpected expenses, adding Critical Med might be a fit.

Expenses hit unexpectedly. If you’re not really worried about routine medical care due to the high cost of insurance, you may just choose to go without.
